Now I have completed the boring point to point soldering of all the 4 HC595 7 segment led drivers. I have also independently tested every one of the four drivers OK. Next step is to see if I can driver all 4 LEDs using only three signals, Serial Date Clock, Serial Data In, and Latch Parallel Register.
