Olimex EKG/EMG module testing notes
So I used the battery powered 3V3 PSU to test the olimex ekg board. This time the wave looks good.
The wave looks like a normal ekg wave. The R pulses are about 900mS apart, and corresponds to a heart rate of 66bpm. I afterwards measured my heart rate by hand and found it 69 bpm. So at least the heart rate seems OK.
But only the R pulse looks sharp. The Q, S, and T waves are a bit noisy. I am not too sure if I should use a digital low pass filter to smooth out these looking noisy waves.
Anyway, the high frequency noise problem disappeared. I need to go back to use the AC powered 3V3 PSU to see if the high frequency noise indeed comes back, so verifies that the switching power supply indeed causes the problem.
I have also switched off and on the digital volt meter but found nothing changing. In other words, the digital volt meters do not make any trouble.
I placed the electrodes on my right arm, left arm, and left foot. I think tomorrow I can try to following.
1. RA, LA, and RL, to hopefully measure the lead II wave.
2. Use disposable electrodes instead of the olimex elastic bands.
So far so good, and I call it a day.
